Another Blue tit

 This poor little blue tit got all his feathers in disorder by the wind today!

Blue tit

 It snowing all time right now in Sweden and the small birds are finding it hard to find food in the forest. We try to feed them as much as we can. This little Blue tit found its way to our feeding station the other day.

 This little cute Great tit sat in the apple tree outside our house. 

Elk

 I live very near the forest with fields surrounding our house and yet I rarely see any elks. I know they are here because I can see the signs down at our pond that they visit there and drink. So imagine the joy when I here that there is an elk walking in a field very close to us and it's still there when I arrive. These animals are just incredible powerful and handsome when you get to see them so close and in there real habitat. 

Mallard

Just found this photo of a female Mallard in our pond. It was taken last summer, and right now I miss summer.

A couple of weeks ago when I walked down to the pond I found a single female Mallard swimming around there. She was kind enough to let me take som portraits of her.

FotoSöndag - Eye-contact

I didn't have a photo for this week's FotoSöndag until we took a late walk and our neighbours was trying to rescue a Magpie baby that had fallen down from the nest. This little chick made pretty good eye-contact with us.

A rare visitor!

Yesterday I noticed a bird that I had not seen before at our birdhouse. Today I managed to get a photo (through the kitchen window!) and with the help of a great group on Facebook I got to know that this is a Hawfinch. It's so fun discovering new species that visits us the get some food in this very cold an snowy weather.

Foto Sondag - Treasure

This weeks theme in Foto Sondag is "skatt" a Swedish word that could either mean tax or treasure. I have chosen to interpret as treasure.

I live in the countryside and for me walking out in the forest listening to the birds and the leaves whisper in the wind is like finding a treasure every time. So this little Chaffinch will represent my treasure.

Deer

We have a lot of Deers that eats on the fields outside our house and this photo was taking by opening our kitchen window!

Day 362

Thank god for Facebook groups! I couldn't see if this was a marsh tit or a Willow tit but I took some help in a bird group and this is my little Marsh tit friend.

Unusual is the theme this week in FotoSöndag. And I wouldn't exactly say that a Wood Pigeon is an unusal bird, but I rarely see them this close to our garden and I do say that this is a rather unusal photo.

I tried to take birdphotos but they didn't want to cooperate with me. At least this turned out pretty good.

It has been a snowstorm here most of the day and the poor birds outside looked like the are freezing.

This summer we have built a pond in our forest and for a couple of days now when I have walked down there I have seen a female Common Goldeneye swimming around.

Today I had the right equpiment with me and managed to take some photos.

Took a walk in the forest and suddenly heard a familiar noise. Don't now what kind of Woodpecker this is though.
