Semla

 Ok so I guess you know that in Sweden we love our Swedish Fika and the weeks before Easter it's a pastry called Semla that is the big thing. I couldn't resist buying one the other day, and before it was eaten (it was delicious) I took this photo.

Saffron buns

 It' s not that long until Christmas and I am making Christmas still life photos. Really like this one with my own baked saffron buns. 

Cookies

 Today is Kladdkakans (sticky chocolate cakes) day in Sweden. I made a version of that in the shape of cookies and felt like I needed to make a still life. 

Tomatoes

 What could be better than to be able to eat your home grown tomatoes!

Cinnamon bun

 Went into town today and got me a cinnamon bun for my afternoon tea. Couldn't resist taking a photo of before eating it. 

Cookies

 In Sweden we celebrate the Cinnamon bun day today. Since I'm not really well enough to bake them I took a shortcut and made a cinnamon bun cookie instead. Hope you enjoy!

 I baked this breakfast buns yesterday I thought they looked like they needed to be used in a photo!

Blueberries

 Bought these big beautiful blueberries and just had to take a photo!

Strawberries

 One of the best things about summer, except vacation of course, is Strawberries. I just love these red beautiful berries and are eating as much as I can before they are gone again. 

Saffron cookies

 Made some cookies today that I felt a need to photograph. 

Red Currant Cake

 If you have picked red currants for a photo you also need to use them for something, so I made a red currant cake. And of course you need to take photos of that too.

Rhubarb pie

Is there anything better than a pie made from fresh rhubarbs? Not many things in my opinion. 

Walnuts

 I'm still very into still life photography maybe because that doens't take as much energy as walking out to the woods and find nice things to take photos of. This time it's walnuts in a glass bowl that is the motive. 

Fotosöndag - Shrove Tuesday

In Sweden Shrove Tuesday is called Fettisdagen that could be translated into Fat Tuesday. And that is this weeks theme in Fotosöndag and who can resist a Semla.

Macro Mondays - Redux 2020 (Chocolate)

 This week we get to choose from all the differents themes used over the year 2020. It must be a new photo, so no cheating using the old photo from a theme. I chosed chocolate because I didn't participate that week. 

Ö=Örter

Örter or Herbs in English is something that definitly always can be found at my home. Not always fresh as the one in the photo but dried.

Ä=Ägg

Ägg or Egg in English is something that I always have at home. I eat a lot of eggs every week in various of forms. These beauties are from my friends hens.

O=Oregano

One of my favorite spices is Oregano and as the photo shows it works great to pasta and tomatos.

I=Inlagd sill

Inlagd sill is pickled herring in english. I believe this is not so common food outside Scandinavia but here it is like a national dish. At my home we eat this very often together with boiled egg and a sandwich as an evening dinner. It is very likely that you will find a jar of this in our fridge.
